Fujifilm FinePix Z100fd

Fujifilm launched the FinePix Z100fd in late 2007 as the camera built for people who cared how they looked holding it. All-metal body, 19.8mm thin, a diagonal-sliding lens cover with an illuminated ‚Z‘ logo, and four two-tone color schemes. THE LOOKS

The Cappuccino Brown Z100fd is a warm two-tone: brushed bronze-brown metallic on the main body with a contrasting lighter panel on the diagonal lens cover. The cover slides at 45 degrees rather than straight across — purely a design decision, and the right one. The ‚Z‘ logo on the front illuminates briefly on startup. The 8-megapixel CCD delivers Fujifilm’s characteristic warm, saturated output — the colour science that made Z-series images immediately recognizable. The CCD output has Fujifilm’s characteristic warmth at base ISO, and Intelligent Flash genuinely improved indoor shots. The menu system is slow and battery life short — but as a late-2000s design object in Cappuccino Brown, it’s exactly the right camera to own.
